As Penn State prepares for its 2026 football season, they are also preparing to break in its exciting new transfer QB. Rocco Becht is one of college football's most experienced quarterbacks, but has never played at the Big Ten level. All eyes will be on how he adjusts. When you look at his career, you'll be hard-pressed to think he won't impress.

Throughout his career, he has thrown for 9,274 yards and 64 touchdowns, impressive numbers at a Big 12 program like Iowa State. Still, he has also faced his fair share of injuries and, as a result, saw a decrease in his production last season. Now, as he heads into his first year with the Nittany Lions, there is uncertainty surrounding which version of Becht will show up.

That question is perhaps reflected in On3's recent ranking of the top Big Ten quarterbacks, where Becht was only ranked sixth.

While right now, this is just projection, it gives Becht a platform to prove himself. After all, Dante Moore and Julian Sayin have CFP experience along with the others ranked ahead of Becht who have the Big Ten experience he doesn't. However, one thing that Becht does have is continuity. Most of the weapons from his days at Iowa State have followed him and coach Campbell to Happy Valley, including his two leading receivers from last year in Chase Sowell and Brett Eskildsen.

Long story short, if Rocco Becht can get back to form quickly, chances are these rankings will look silly by season's end.
